How do I open a new webpage and maximise it?

Because < 2% of users are on Macs :) Question: if you have something good
that would really enhance your site for 90% of users would you
a/ do it - those 90% are important and you want their business
b/ not do it because you might lose 10%

In my opinion, there is nothing that would require such. And to quote
global usage statistics to address what may well be a niche demographic
problem is misleading and only suitable for presidential debates 8)! It
might be possible that the OP's demographic is 100% Macintosh (I know, but
it *could* be)....

Not sure what you mean by "maximize." Any new page opened from a link using new window or
target="_blank" as part of the link will open the new page full screen.

No, the new page will open at whatever size the browser was last closed at.
in my case, that would be an 800x600 window.

I run retail web sites for a living. I don't care about NN4, I don't care
about IE5 on the Mac - because those users don't make money. I have one
site that for various reasons (all technical) can't support anything less
than IE5/6 or Firefox the site makes >£1000 a day in a very competitive
market and the browser specific coding is a big part of that. When I check
the stats I see a few NN4/Mac users and know I've lost them - but I'd rather
lose a few NN4 users to "bad" coding than a lot of IE users to the
competition.

Bottom line - I *can* code to support any browser but I *choose* not to :)

Sure - but that's in YOUR market. I have no idea what demographic the op is
playing in....

In my experience it's not so hard to never have to face this issue by making
sites that are comfortable in all browsers. They may not look the same in
all, but they function....

Correct. I meant to add that but clicked send to quickly.
