yes but is 5 months old so not much on it have been told that can buy
software to retreive files as they are still on the computer just in
background ie police can retreive deleted files any ideas

I've heard about that software, too.
The first thing you'll want to do is turn off your pc. The more you use it, the
better chance the data that was in your file will be overwritten.
After that, find another pc and start looking for data recovery programs (or
data recovery services) on a different pc.
A long time ago, the Norton Utilities had this kind of program. But the last
version I used was way before Windows came out.
Good luck.
