How do I place a criteria on a query field for different names?

Query criteria

I have different people entered a field say "selected" and I need to be able
to only access the fields that have peoples names in them.

Not sure what you mean. What are the fields in your query? What are you
trying to retrieve? What criteria or prompts do you wish to use?

probably wanna use "IS NOT NULL" in your criteria.
