How do I play mpeg file in PowerPoint?

I have inserted an mpeg file in a presentation and it just won't start. I've
tried a mpg file and it works just fine. The video is working perfectly on a
media player, such as BSplayer or Windows media player, so the codec could
not be the problem. Can it be the size because it's about 250Mb? Is there a
size limit? or something connected to it?
I use Power Point 2003 from Office 2003 Professional, so my guess is that it
shoul work.
