How do I preserve data throughout OS reinstall?

I have to re-install XP, and need to know where the folders are that contain my personal Outlook data so I can copy it onto a floppy & reinstate it when I'm done. Which files/folders do I need to save & where are their default locations? Would someone please either post a solution here and/or send me an e-mail? (e-mail address removed)
