How do I preserve line breaks in text emails?

Email text messages with line breaks inserted by the user are not preserved
by Outlook by default. Outlook displays the following message
"Extra line breaks in this message were removed. To restore, click here".

So I have to click the link to view every text message I receive with
line breaks, which is most email messages. Furthermore If I click
the link to restore the line breaks and save the message as a text
file, the line breaks are no longer present.

Disable the option "Remove extra line breaks in plain text messages".
This option is available in Outlook 2002. You never mentioned what
version you have, and each version has a different feature set.
