how do I prevent a cell within a Word table from growing as extra.

S

SoftSpot

I have a table in Word, 2 columns by 2 rows, with righ two cells merged.
Don't want the right merged cell to grow as extra text is entered. Have the
cell property (Fit Text) turned off, but the cell continues to grow.

Thanks in advance for any help offered

Hi SoftSpot,

To control row heights, use Table|Table Properties|Row and set the row
height to 'exactly' whatever you want it to be.

To control column widths, use Table|Table Properties|Table|Options and
uncheck 'automatically resize to fit contents', then set the column widths
to whatever you want them to be.

Cheers
