The 5160 is a VERY common label and there is a Word template for it. (BTW -
it has *3* columns of 10 labels.)
I've never used WordPerfect so I have no idea what it does.
Tools - Letters and Mailings - Envelopes and Labels - make sure it's set for
the Labels tab - Options. Select the label in there. OK
If you want a full sheet of the same address, type that info in the address
space. To see the full sheet, click on the New Document button.
If you want a full sheet of different addresses, leave the address box clear
and click on New Document.
And please, NEVER add spaces to move text around. That is a sure fire sign
of someone who is lazy. (I'm sorry that sounds mean but that's how it
appears). Learn to use paragraph settings. This is one of many reasons I
like having my non-printing characters turned on. I can see where my text
will be instead of trying to find a small blinking cursor.Click on the ¶
button in your toolbar. You'll get used to the dots between words, the ¶ at
the end of a paragraph, and the ¤ at the end of a cell. In a short while
you'll wonder how you ever managed to live without them.

Mistyped the number -- it is 5160. The main point is that in Word Perfect
I
can "see" what the label looks like . . . in Microsoft I can's see the
image.
so if the label mfg doesn't put the number on the package, I have to go to
another word processing program to get help. Even when I selected that
number in Microsoft word, it didn't line up exactly. I had to type
leading
..... in front of the name to move the name over to the center of the
label.
It's a lot of work in Word compared to word perfect. I agree with you
that
I'm doing something terribly wrong!
:
Avery doesn't have a 5180 label. There is an 8161 (and other numbers as
well) that have 2 columns of 10 labels. They are 1" x 4". Top margin =
.5",
side margin = .16", vert pitch = 1", horiz pitch = 4.19". Does that sound
right?

I am using Avery labels 5180. In order to determine that is the label
number, since I couldn't find that information in Microsoft Word, I had
to
go
to Word Perfect and use their print label feature. It showed the
labels
and
gave me the right number.
anything yu can tell me to do that would make this easier would be much
appreciated.
:
Which label number are you using? You are REALLY doing something the
hard
way.

I just figured out what I was doing wrong: After highlighting the
name
in
word, I had to go to word perfect to find the right label size then
return
to
Microsoft word, select that label size, add some leading periods to
move
the
name over to the center of the label and hit print. The printer
will
stop
after each label and you can insert the next label. I'm sure
there's
an
easier way to do all this, but I don't know enough about word to
figure
it
out. Hope this helps.
:
When printing names on labels, do those names have to be in
outlook?
I
set
up a label to print and inserted a name then hit print. Nothing
printed.
I
was just returned to the blank page. I want to print a whole page
of
the
same
name. I checked that box. labels are in the printer and the
printer
is
on.
I am obviously doing something wrong.
thank you.
