How do I print ONLY one page of a 3-pg e-mail in Outlook?

I use Outlook (Office XP) for e-mails. When I want to print the whole
e-mail, no problem. But, if I want to print just the first (or last) page,
there is no option in print screens to enter a range. This only happens in
Outlook. Thanks.

It sounds like you are attempting to print from the Inbox view. Open the
email and then click on FILE-PRINT and you should be able to select the pages
to print.

No. I just opened an e-mail in "sent," went to print it, and again, no page
range option is available. Thanks anyway. Anybody?

If Outlook XP is like Outlook 2003, plain text e-mails won't give you the
option to choose which pages to print, and HTML e-mails won't give you a
print preview. To work around, I do this in Outlook 2003, maybe it will work
in Outlook XP also:

From the menu bar in your message window:
Edit> Edit Message
Format> HTML

Select the portion of the message you wish to print.

File> Print> Print selection.

After printing, close the message without saving it if you don't want it
permanently converted to HTML.

Hope this helps.

What you could do is to download PrimoPDF. Create a .pdf file from that
email and then print the individual page that you need.

Yes, I know, it's the long way around but it would work. Plus having a .pdf
creating program on your system comes in handy for all sorts of things. :)

That's pretty inconvenient. This has to be a bug or glitch in Outlook. It
seems like such a simple command, one that's available for every other
program except Outlook e-mail. Thanks, anyway.

Thank you. Yours is a good suggestion but still too much work. If I have to
use a "work-around," I know a simpler way: click to "forward" the e-mail.
Then click on print. NOW you get the option to enter a range or page number.

But, since switching to Outlook, running several Norton Live Updates, and
getting DSL, I've also had constant internet connection problems. I didn't
have this with Netscape 7.02.

I'll wait a few more days to give Outlook a chance. But, the print thing is
a hassle.
Thank you for trying to help.

It shouldn't be necessary to go through so many steps just to print the first
part of an e-mail. But I tried your suggestion anyway b/c it's good to have
options. However, simply opening the e-mail in Outlook and resaving it with
a filename & .pdf extension didn't work. Also I tried opening the e-mail
from within Adobe 4.0, but I'm getting too far from my original problem. I
hope you can see my response to IanRoy. Thanks for the suggestion.

Interesting. I didn't know about that method. I almost never print e-mails,
partial or otherwise, but I will keep it in mind. Not sure if it is less
work, but thanks.

Thanks, for posting the simple work-around!

No, you can't just add .pdf to the file name and make it so. You actually
need to download PrimoPDF, install it, and print the email with the PRIMOPDF
driver. That will allow you to name the file whatever you need and it will
create the .pdf file for you. Open that file in your Reader and then you can
print page 2 of whatever.

Yes, it's a long drawn out way but it does work. And like I said, it is nice
being able to create .pdf files if you ever share documents with others.
