How do I publish my project to the server

Hello and thanks for the help. I am using Project 2007. If my goal is to have
my project published on the server do I need to do something before I start
creating my project? Or is it acceptable to create the project as I did in
earlier versions and then go to the Collaborate Menu and select the Publish
All Information option? I want to do this the most efficient way. : )

Sheri,

The method of publishing has changed. After creating your project,
either from a template or from scratch, using Project Professional
2007 connected to Project Server 2007, take the following actions:

1. In Project Professional, click File>Save. This action saves your
project to the draft database in Project Server 2007. You will be
able to see the progress of the save at the bottom center of the
screen.
2. After you have saved the project, click File>Publish. This will
publish data to the published database in Project Server 2007.

Further publishing will only send the differences between what's
stored in your Local Cache and what's on the server.

Some of the key differences are that 2003 gave you the opportunity to
publish summary only or summary and details. That option isn't really
available. PS2003 also allowed you to publish resource assignments
separately from publishing the schedule and that isn't really an
option either. There is a Publish field in Project Professional where
you can select tasks to not publish.
