How do I put dashes in a document using Draw Menu Line Dash?

I am doing an index for a large document. I need to put a line of dots from
the entry to the page number. How can I do this? I found "DrawMenuLineDash"
but it does not work once I close out of the options box.

I suspect you're creating not an index but a table of contents. Word can do
