how do I read mail in Outlook Express?

I have Outlook Express vsn 6.0.

When I depress the Outlook Express Icon on the Desktop (Windows XP) I
reach the opening Outlook Express Screen which says I have 355 unread
messages in my folder and then below that

"Read Mail" which is underlined

I desire to be able to access all 355 unread messages, but when I
depress READ MAIL, it opens up to only one piece of mail, the most
recent mail.

My question, therefore, is how do I access all of the remaining 354
messages?
