How do I recieve emails without clicking send/recieve button?

My emails are not automatically appearing in my inbox. I have to click
send/receive in order to outlook emails. I can't figure out how to have new
emails automatically appearing my inbox.

Type of email account?

Ctrl+Alt+S to open the send and receive dialog - is it set to check every xx
minutes? (Don't check more often than 8 min.)

Go to Tools -> Options. Go to the Mail Setup tab then click on the
Send/Receive button. Check "Schedule an automatic send/receive every"
and set the value for when you want to send/receive.
