how do i recognise full dates in a downloaded calendar

i have downloaded a calendar in excel and want to link the dates (eg 01
January 2007) to a cell in another spreadsheet, so that by clicking on the
calendar date the information will appear in the other spreadsheet. can
anyone let me know how to do this?
