How do I recover a lost Outlook 2003 password?

G

Garry

I am trying to restore my outlook 2003 data files from an external drive
backup file after a total restore on internal my hard drive. Outlook 2003 is
acking me for my Outlook password. I have no memory of ever setting an
outlook password and the passwords I would almost certainly have used don't
seem to work. Any suggestions?

What did you use for backup, and was OL closed when you backed up?
If you restored any pst files to eg Documents, Configure OL so it is
functioning, then within OL File>Open>Data File .....browse to the saved
file, is it still a problem?

Hi,

Even if you forget the password for the encrypted PST file, you can
still decrypt it by using Advanced Outlook Repair. Advanced Outlook
Repair can decrypt all the encrypted data and convert it into a new
PST file that doesn't require a password. You can visit
http://www.datanumen.com/aor/problems/outlook-password.htm to get more
detailed information.

And you can also download a free demo version at http://www.datanumen.com/aor/aor.exe
