You don't need to. All registering does is place you on a marketing
database. Activation you MUST do.

had same problem and could not find answer on microsoft website and wasn't
able to get any solutions from the helpdesks at Microsoft who were useless.

However eventually found the solution buried on a page of microsofts website
posted by someone else after googling the error code.

Try this solution: Click Start button, choose Run option and press enter and
a DOS screen will be displayed. At the prompt (ie - >) type REGSVR32
OLE32.DLL
and this should fix the problem. It worked for me.
