HELP.... I have Windows XP Professional that had contracted a virus last
November. Computer tech came to my house and deleted almost all of my good
software like excel and word perfect. I didn't realize this at the time. I
can't reinstall it because I bought the computer with it already on there. I
can't afford to go and buy these programs...does someone know of any way for
me to get excel and word back?

If it came bundled on your pc, you'll need to contac the OEM vendor.

If it came with your PC, contact the seller. They're required to
provide you with some sort of reinstallation media. Unfortunately it
may be a recovery disk that reinstalls the entire Windows + original
software image, while wiping out everything on your PC. But your can
try insisting on a Office install disk.

Ask a friend for their CD and load it, if it asks you to activate, call the
Microsoft Activation line and tell them your hard drive crashed and this is
the 2nd time you are installing. The phone operator will activate it for
you and it will work perfectly.
