I recently replaced a crashed hard drive and when I went to reinstall Office
2000 I got a message that the installation program couldn't find a previous
qualifying edition of Microsoft software on the hard drive (the Office 2000
package was an upgrade). Is there any easy way to get past the installation
check short of calling Microsoft or reinstalling an old program just so the
installation program can find what it's looking for?
