How do I remove Char(160) from a cell?

I pasted data into a spreadsheet form an html table. I found there in a
Char(160) character on eoither side of the data. I want to strip this
character. This character is an nbsp in HTML.

=SUBSTITUTE(E1,CHAR(160),"")
