I'm not sure what you mean by "back and forth." You can remove all direct
formatting from a document by using Ctrl+A (Select All), Ctrl+Q (ResetPara),
and Ctrl+Spacebar (ResetChar). You can go even further and apply the Normal
style to the entire document using Ctrl+Shift+N. But there is no way to "go
back" except with Undo.

If you are wanting a view of your document that doesn't display formatting,
you might try switching to Normal view and then checking the box for "Draft
font" on the View tab of Tools | Options. You can select which font you want
to use, and you'll see the entire document in that font and size--no bold,
no italic, no fancy stuff. If you check "Wrap to window" as well, you won't
even get normal line and page breaks.

In Outline view, you can also choose to view the entire document in Normal
style or as formatted in Print Layout view.

I just want to view my doc, without all the 'spaces' marked, and 'paragraphs'
indicated, etc, it is too hard to read, with all that 'junk' in it....none of
your previous suggestions, made my 'formatting' disappear, 'back and forth',
meant easily clicking on the proverbial shortcut, to get the formatting 'on'
and/or 'off', thanx, for your help with this question, Suzanne,
