How do I remove ">>>>>>>>>>>>" from emails?

I am fed up with removing ">>>>>>>>>>>" manually.

How can I remove this automatically?

How can I stop it happening again?

there is no easy way to remove them - if you use word as the editor, you can
search and replace to remove them - otherwise, you are stuck with them. They
are added by mail clients to identify quoted text and if the sender properly
trims, you'll only have one or two at most. If they top post, you can ignore
them easier.
