HOW DO I REMOVE THE GHOST ON DRAWING LINES in excel ?

I'm tring to change an existing file in excel and has the drawing lines
options ghosted out . how do i remove that.

Here is one possibility.

Tools=>Option=>View and uncheck gridlines
