How do I remove the paragraph move icon next to a body of ink?

I am writing in OneNote sometimes and these little icons that look like plus
signs ( + ) with arrows on the end keep popping up on the left side of
each letter I write and I would like them to be gone. Sometimes I end up
moving some ink I just wrote instead of writing new ink.

Unfortunately there is no way to disable the Outline Elements' handles.

On the other hand - the handle should appear for the paragragh as a whole
rather than for individual letters. This might indicate that your ink is
treated as drawing rather than handwriting... Are you seeing this on tablet
or desktop machine?

I checked to see if what I had written was either just ink or drawing or
both. I had it originally set to be just ink. I am using the program on a
tablet, would it be different if it were on a desktop?

You say you were using OneNote on a "tablet" but are you talking about a
Tablet PC or a drawing pad attached to a laptop or desktop? If a Tablet PC,
each individual stroke of the pen will be recorded as part of the digital
Ink. If not, or you've purposefully created a graphic, the "object" would
be everything you did within the "box."

I am using a Tablet PC, the Toshiba R10-15 with MS Tablet PC Edition as the
OS. You said that each stroke on a Tablet PC is part of the digital ink, I
have sometimes noticed that if I move away from a section of ink I just wrote
and come back to it that a new section of ink is created. This interferes
with my ability to modify a previous section because I now must write overtop
of it instead of within it. I have used photoshop before and there is a
function in it called "flattening" where all of the modifications can be
compressed into one layer, one section. I have not yet found a way to either
"flatten" all the sections of ink in the same layer or to modify the page
before hand to only write ink in one layer. Perhaps I have got away from the
initial problem here and this should be a different thread but having all
these sections overlapping each other (especially when taking notes) is very
inhibiting.
