How do I remove the visible 'reveal codes' from any page?

When I open up a new document, or pull up an old one, the 'reveal codes'
always show up. For those old wordperfect users, this means everyspace,
every tab, every paragraph mark...it all appears on the page when I'm typing,
and it's very distracting. Does anyone know how to remove it?

In Office 2003 Tools, Options, View, Formatting marks and uncheck the
individual boxes or the "All" box.

And in Word 2007, go to Home tab-Paragraph and click on the "¶" symbol....

You dont mention your version of Office/Word, but maybe you have a view set
which shows 'formatting marks'
How you turn this off/on depends on your version

It may also be the case that your default word.dot file (that used when you
create a new document) also has these views set.
