How do I remove these annoying page guides?

Hello. I simply cannot figure out how to remove these
annoying page guides in Microsoft Word 2003. What I mean
by "page guides" is this:

At the upper left corner, upper right cornern, bottom
left corner, and bottom right corner are L-shapes that
seem to denote the gutter both horizontally and
vertically. I opened one document that displayed them
automatically and now they won't go away!

Any ideas how I can get rid of these?

Josh,

Likely an East Asian language is installed. START>All Programs>Microsoft
Office Tools>Microsoft Office XP Language Settings and remove any Eas Asian
language appearing as enabled.

Ha! I just posted the same question to
the "customization, menus, and toolbars" group. I hate
these little things too!! I call them "margin markers" but
I have no idea what stupid name this stupid company gave
them.

please let me know if you figure out how to get rid of
them -- i will do the same for you.

MS calls them "crop marks" (though they're not). Get rid of them by
uninstalling support for Asian languages (Start | Programs | Microsoft
Office Tools | Microsoft Office <version> Language Settings).

Amazing! I would have never figured that one
out...thanks! Too bad I made the mistake of listing even
my "spam" e-mail address here since I've been overloaded
since my message was posted.

I had exactly the same problem. I was doing some work for
a Japanese company and low and behold - Japanese had been
added to my language settings. I removed the language and
bingo, those annoying marks disappeared.

Many thanks I was about to get really angry with my
laptop.
