How do I remove what I can't see?

I have an Excel workbook that is 6MB in size. It has about 10 worksheets.

If I got to some of the sheets and press Ctrl + End, it goes to something
like CZ8500, yet there should be no data past col P and row 45.

I go to col Q and select all the cols to the right (Ctrl + Shift + ->) and
press del, then also right click and delete (delete cols). I then do the
same from row 46 down.

However when I press Ctrl + End, it still goes to CZ8500. To see if I
really was going mad or not, I made new worksheets and copied the data in to
those. The new workbook is only 187k. How do I clean up the old ones?

Regards, Neal

Did you save the workbook after you deleted?

If you use an older version of Excel, you have to save and
close your file first. If you re-open it, it should be ok.

Did you figure out how to do this?
I, too, have a spreadsheet that is too huge and won't go
through the e-mail. It shouldn't be that big. I took the
same steps as you, I saved it, brought it back up, and it
is still the same size. (Excel 2003)
