We have an existing website with a login page that already automatically
comes up in some areas of the site. We have a recently added a few new areas
that we would like to require login to before they can view the requested
page. the person who originally set the site up has left the company and I
can't find the answer to this in the book or online. Someone help please. I
am using front Page...I think it's 2002 edition.

We would have to know how the current login was set up, you may need to contact the web host or
server Admin.

We are the administrator of our own site and it lives on our own server...for
some reason the way it's set up I the navigation pane shows me nothing. I
tried opening the navigation pane to see how the existing pages have it set
up but it shows nothing on the navigation pane. I know that on the existing
pages when we click to read on a button instead of taking us to the
hyperlinked page directly it diverts to this login page and once the member's
info is authenticated it then takes them to the correct hyperlinked page...I
know the login page is NOT hyperlinked it is somehow connected as a security
measure that non-members do not get the info that members can. Does that
help?

It sound like one of the following:

The login permissions where set via FP Tools | Security

or

The login permissions where set on the individual folder via Operating System, User Management.
