You don't mention what version of project you are using but here's some
guidance from Project 2002/2003.
With the network diagram view displayed, choose Format > Box Styles.
In the Box Styles dialog box Click the More Templates button to open the
Data Templates dialog box.
Select one of the templates from the list and click the Copy button to open
the Data Template Definition dialog box. Supply a new name to the template
you are creating.
Click the Cell Layout button to open the Cell Layout Dialog box.
In the Cell Layout dialog box, increase the cell width value to make the box
wider.
Click OK to close the Cell Layout dialog box and return to the Data Template
Definition dialog box.
Click the OK button to close the Data Template Definition dialog box and
return to the Data Templates dialog box.
Click the Close button to close the Data Templates dialog box and return to
the Box Styles dialog box.
In the Box Styles dialog box, select the type of box you wish to apply the
newly created Data Template to, and select the template from the Data
Template drop down list.
Select the next type of box in the list if necessary and repeat to apply the
new data template to each box you wish to widen.
Click the OK button to close the Box Styles dialog box when you are
finished.
