How do I Reverse uninstall of XP Std?

M

Mark C.

After trying to install SP for Office XP, the install
crashed b/c I do not have original XP CD. I stopped patch
install, and then could not open up previous any Excel
files.

I mistakenly uninstalled Office XP Std from control panel,
but have not rebooted (yet)- as it said changes would take
effect afterwards.

Is there a way to recover this?

Thanks in advance!

Without the disks, no. Where are the disks?

CD is currently in another state, and might be
unobtainable. We do have the box/manual with proof of
purchase, so wondering if MS could replace the media
since it crashed when trying to update critical patches
to Office.

I left computer on, as message said uninstallation would
not take effect until system was rebooted, so I was
hoping there would be some kind of recovery file.

Thanks,
Mark

With box & original packing/proof of purchase, will MS
ship out another media CD?

I'm seeing allot of posts on Open Office - is this a
temporary alternative I could use to at least open up all
the excel and word files?

thanks,
