How do I run '03 PPTs correctly on '07 PPT?

I had my doubts about upgrading to '07, and now I wish I hadn't. Installing
'07 PPT altered my '03 PPTs so that they don't even run correctly on my '03
PPT viewer. Even when I try to run my PPTs online, they automatically open in
'07, and they don't run the way I set them up. This is very annoying because
of the hundreds of hours I put into them. People who have '07 aren't going to
like they way my '03 PPTs run. Am I missing something somewhere? Am I going
to have to have both '03 & '07 PPT programs on my laptop in order to switch
between them, depending on which one I used to create them (if I can get my
old ones to switch back to being usable on '03)?

Jarvis,

can you please give us an example WHAT does not run correctly? Does the text
look distorted? Are images altered? Do you get the wrong colors?

One thing you should do in any case: Office (in all versions) is very
dependent on the printer driver. So please install a modern printer model as
your standard printer. You don't need to have this printer connected to your
computer, but a driver (in case of Vista: a certified driver) has to be
installed.

Best regards,
Ute

The animations aren't the same; e.g., instead of words coming in a letter at
a time, they come in a word at a time, or instead of the sentences showing up
as the animation brings them in, they're already there AND the animation
brings new ones in on top of the ones already there. (I know that probably
doesn't make sense, but you'd have to see some of these things to understand,
I guess.) On another slide the title was supposed to zoom in and stay, but
'07 had it zoom in and zoom back out all at once. I haven't checked on what
else '07 may be doing to my '03s, but so far it seems mainly to be messing
with my animations. Thanks, TD

When I installed '07, I noticed immediately that it altered the icons for my
'03 PPT files. I also thought it was just because of the application change,
but when I now even when I try to use my '03 viewer on my '03 files, they
won't run as I set them up to run. They're still PPTs (not pptx), but they
now run terribly. It mainly seems to have to do with animations, transitions,
and such. Thanks, TD

Do you use any text with shadows? Text shadows are handled differently in
the new version and might cause problems.

Well, to Steve and Simon, I finally broke down and called Microsoft. The '07
PowerPoint guy just cleared it up by saying that the '07 PowerPoint will not
correctly play PPTs created by the '03 PowerPoint program; it's just that
simple ... although stupid. Even though the '07 program doesn't have any new
transitions or animations (which in itself it ridiculous!), it still won't
play '03 ones correctly because of the different way '07 was programmed.
Until I find another lifetime to go back and alter all my '03 PPTs, I'll just
have to keep my '03 program on my computer, and let every web user know which
PPTs on my website are '03 and which are '07. Isn't that terrible? Thanks
guys. OH. ONE MORE THING: SPEAKING OF ANIMATIONS, ETC. ... I FORGOT TO ASK
THE MS GUY ... IS THERE SUCH A THING AS A PLACE ON THE WEB WHERE ONE CAN
DOWNLOAD NEW OR OTHER ANIMATIONS, TRANSITIONS, ETC.? I'D TRULY LOVE THAT.
