How do I save a MS Office Student&Teachers version doc to a CD?

I use Student & Teachers version of MS Office when I try to save as to a CD I
get an error -incorrect function. Is it possible to save to a CD with this
version? If so how?

Never, never, never save straight to a CD. Use your CD writing software.
