How do i schedule phone calls

C

Charles

I would like to schedule a phone call as a to do using Outlook 2003. Lets
say that I need to call Joe Blow and discuss a list of things with him. I
would like to schedule a task where I can list the items that need to be
covered during the call. I want to use the auto dialer to dial the call and
automatically create a journal entry to record the progress of the call. It
would be nice if it would copy the list from the task to the journal entry
when it is created.

An old product I used called Packrat would allow you to do it. All you had
to do was drag the contact record to the schedule call pad and it would
create a record that had a notes field where you could list the items to be
discussed. When you placed the call it created a journal entry that linked
to the original contact record. When you ended the call it deleted the call
from your to be made calls list but the record of the conversation was
available in the contact journal.

For a contact manager I can't believe that Outlook doesn't do a better job
of allowing you to Contact people.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you looked at the Actions menu when a contact is selected? The tools,
options, journal options dialog will be helpful too.
