How do I schedule time using follow up flag in outlook?

P

Priya

I would like to send an email message to a group regarding an event. I do not
want a response from the recipient, but I want the time blocked off in the
recipients calendary as well as a 24 reminder prior to the event.

With a message, I can use the follow up flag for the reminder. But, how do I
block off time in their calendar?

I am avoiding sending a meeting request unless I can remove the response
buttons.

Any ideas?

Mail items cannot, by their nature, interact with the calendar without user
intervention. Calendar scheduling requires the use of the
appointment/meeting item, or the user must drag a non-native calendar form
to the calendar to generate an entry.

You can try posting this in one of the Outlook programming groups to see if
there is a programmatic method for doing this.

After furious head scratching, Priya asked:
