How do I search for hyphenated words in Outlook 2007?

Searching for a hyphenated word, such as "off-nominal", even when enclosed in
quotes gets me all messages that have both "off" and "nominal" in them. How
do I get the whole word only? Thanks.

Which search method are you using? In some searcheds, any delimiter is
treated identically (it can be a plus, a hyphen, a space, etc.) to separate
two words and strings are undelimited strings, which produces what you see.

you can use angle brackets (the < > symbols),
you should search for "<off-nominal>"
