I have a mailing list of people that I want to send business emails to, but
don't want the recipient list to be visible, both for privacy reasons and to
avoid annoying "reply all" problems. How can I do this in Outlook?

Taking a chance on your version, in Outlook 2003, open your
e-mail message, and click on the little down arrow to the
right of the Options icon. Click on Bcc. This will expose
the Bcc line. Click on the Bcc button and insert your
addresses.

Should have added: Create a distribution list of the
business contacts. Keep your ISP's maximum in mind for each
distribution list.
