How do I set a group object to text wrap? Wrap tool grays out in

N

I have a grouped object on a Word 2007 document. All the objects (text boxes
and lines) were set to text wrap before they were grouped. Text wrap is
lost when the objects are grouped. This also happened in Word 2003 but I
could reset wrapping in the object properties dialog box. The text wrapping
tools are grayed out once I group the objects and text wrapping is no longer
on the object properties dialog box. I have to save and open the file in
Office 2003, resave the doc and then reopen in 2007.
I am training/help desk support for about 2300 employees using Word. This
will become a critical issue as we continue to move to Office 2007.

Yes, it can be a problem in Word 2007 when grouping if you're working outside of a drawing canvas (Insert=>Shape=>New Drawing
canvas).

If you click *inside* of the text box, rather than select the grouped item does the text wrapping choice go live again and allow you
to choose the 'More Layout options' to choose a wrapping style that them applies to the grouped object?
