How do I set database so Only the record I am entering data is loc

In workgroup my p/c is the main one.
When I am entering data the others who are connected to my p/c cannot access
the database.
I did select no locks in Tools.
Also, noticed under Run Permission that User's is checked. Unsure about
owners.
Appreciate any help.

I'm not at the office, but I have WindowsXP-professional edition I think. I
don't understand what front end means. Guessing: everyone has Access
installed on their p/c - they do.
I did see the .mdw file. Can I add each name of each computer in that file.
Will that help? I am still learning. Have Access Inside Out book that shows
a sample of this.
My Access is not opened under exclusive mode.
