How do I set my default margins back to 1" at the top of my page?

Some how in my Microsoft Word 2003 program, the margins got screwed up. I
have tried to go into File Page Setup to fix them, but when I adjust the top
margin, it doesn't move. The writing begins at the very edge of the top of
the page. I really need one inch margins at the top of my work, but I don't
know where to go to fix them. How do I fix this? If anyone could help me that
would be great.
