How do I set my recurring reminder interval just once?

I have a daily recurring appointment which reminds me every 30 minutes. When
I restart my computer every morning T have to reset the reminder interval
from the default of 5 minutes back to the 30 minutes I prefer. It's not a big
deal but I would like to avoid doing this every day if I can. I am currently
using Outlook 2003

This is an indication that Outlook may not be closing properly after you set
the value so it doesn't write your selection to its files. How do you close
Outlook?
