how do I set outlook XP to delete emails older than 7 days

Rhys

Hi,

I am trying to configure a mailbox so that it will automatically delete
items older than 7 days. Is there any way to do this as I can't seem to find
any option or rule that has this setting.

I'm using Outlook XP talking to Exchange 2003.

Thanks

AutoArchive will do it. Set the folder with the mail to be deleted to 7 days
(right click on the folder, choose properties) and set Autoarchive to run
every day (Tools, options, other).

Hi Diane,

This option is not available in this version of outlook.

I'm using outlook 2002.

Thanks
Rhys

Go to Tools, Options dialog, Other tab. AutoArchive button in 3/4 of the way
down the dialog. This enables it with the default setting. To override the
setting on any folder, right click on the folder and choose Properties then
AutoArchive tab.

If you still can't find it, go to Help, About and verify the version of
Outlook you are using. It will not work with "Outlook Web Access" (its not
really outlook) or Outlook Express.
