How do I set up a line that extends on mouse click in Powerpoint?

i am trying to figure out how to present the affect of electrical power
moving through a circuit. Basically, I would like to have a place to click
the mouse and then the line (simulating power flow) extends from "point A to
popint B".

Try the Wipe entrance animation.

If you are using PPT 2002 and later then you can use trigger animation to
start a wipe animation on the line the upon the click of the shape.
