How do I set up a time lock in Excel?

I want to create a spreadsheet that users can access and make changes up to a
predetermined date and time. At that time the workbook and/or specific
worksheets lock, allowing "read only". Can this be done?

You can do this by having a Workbook_Open macro that picks up on the
date you specify and protects all the sheets with some password. But be
aware that Excel is not built as a secure platform. There are many ways
that whatever scheme you come up with can be defeated. HTH Otto

...as an obvious example, setting the system date to be earlier than your
'cut off date'.
