How do I set up an association to open an attachment for e-mail

Im trying to open an attachment sent to my e-mail and it tells me there is no
program associated with it to perform the action.

What format is the attachment? Are you using 2007 Beta? I've found if you
double-click the attachment it will open even though the message says it can't.
You can save the attachment to your computer and open it from there.
