how do i set up to send and receieve a fax

i have a scanner windows xp and office xp
can anyone please help me
i am a carpenter in australia and i am not great with the computer so would
appreciate any help

Install the Windows XP Fax Service, add it to your Outlook Profile as the
Fax Transport. Then you can send faxes using Outlook or Windows. If your
scanner comes with fax capabilities, then use the software that came with it
to send faxes via an analog modem or your direct telephone line.
