Are you going to track the attendance for your students, or for staff?
Do you want to simply know they were there, or track when they arrived and
left?
You will (at the minimum) need two tables for this. They could be as
follows...
TblStudents
StudentID
StudentFirstName
StudentLastName
StudentDateOfBirth
StudentAddress
StudentCity
StudentState
StudentZIP
etc.
TblAttendance
StudentID
Date
TimeIn
TimeOut
Comments
etc.
You might also want a "Parent" table or a "Household" table to link
siblings. You may want to track tuition information, accident reports, etc.
But the above is a good starting point. If you do a household type table,
then you could leave out the address data and put it in that table. This
would prevent you from having to type the address multiple time for siblings
and would also make it easier when kids moved. Parents and households might
be two separate issues in the case of divorce. Lots of considerations.
