I have heard that there is a version of Outlook with a bug that prevents SSL
from working properly; unless that version has the latest Service Pack
installed. 2002 maybe? Do you have the latest Service Pack? Gmail requires
connection on either port 465 with SSL enabled, or port with STARTTLS
enabled (sometimes called, simply, TLS).
