How do I show status bar to show all open items it is lockedup

When I open Outlook, my status bar at the bottom of the screen is locked up
and i cannot show any of my open items such as Internet etc. When I right
click on the bottom in the status bar space it doesn't do anything. I don't
know what settings I changed. Need help.
