How do I specify DGET criteria without using a range?

Hi
in addition to Harlan's answer you may explain what you're trying to
do. as Harlan said this is something you just don't do - as it makes no
sense :))

Well, you don't do it because it's syntactically impossible. The 3rd
argument must *ALWAYS* be a range reference. As for sense, if you've never
used 123 and enjoyed the benefits of criteria expressions, you may not
realize the benefits, but it definitely makes sense.

Hi Harlan
my fault, wasn't very precise in my statement. Also menat the
impossibility of this syntax in Excel.
I agree with you that criteria expression would be a nice feature ->
But probably MS will never implement it :)

Instead of using dget try using vlookup with a match function for the column
number. Worked for me.
