How do I speed up displaying e-mails in the Preview Pane?

Hi, when I am in Outlook, if I click on an e-mail using Preview Pane (bottom
view), the message can take between 20-60 seconds (with or without
attachments) to simply display the e-mail in the preview pane. I am using
Cached Exchange Mode, have a mailbox about 225,000KB in size, and am running
on Windows XP Pro with a 2.4Ghz Pentium 4 with 512KB RAM.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

What happens if you disable the Instant Messaging feature?
(Options -> Other)
