how do I split one cell into two without changing my column width.

In Excel, I am wanting to create 2 cells within one - i.e. I have a column
width of 20 - I would like to keep that width, but have 1 column w/ two cells
in it, each 10 wide...

why not just insert another column, and set the width on the current on
and the new one at 10
